Fact-Checking

Recently, I’ve been fact-checking for Undark magazine, the award-winning science magazine Knowable, and I previously worked with the coastal science magazine Hakai. I work hard to ensure the story and complex research — everything from vaquita conservation to paleontology finds in Colombia — are accurate for their high quality publications.

I bring my research and investigative experience to each fact-checking project, from deep diving into media and legal archives, understanding scientific papers, hashing out technicalities with scientists, and making phone calls to tough sources.

I’m fluent in Spanish, and proficient in French, which is a major asset for any of those international stories that pass by your desk, and am sensitive to cultural differences.
